“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Cor 16:13-14
One of our church Distinctives is : “Calling Men to be Men”. We need men to lead, innovate, accept responsibility and provide an umbrella of protection over our families and our church.
Lovers and Leaders
Men’s ministry is intended to help our men fulfill their God given role of being lovers and leaders. This requires each man who has trusted in Christ to move down the path of spiritual maturity, becoming conformed to the image of Christ.
We are to love as Christ loved, as Christ submitted Himself to the will of God the Father, we are to put others above ourselves, (Phil 2:3-4) and to lead as Christ led, as a servant leader. (Mark 10:45)
Men’s ministry is designed to provide an environment where men can build into their lives the spiritual disciplines necessary to become men worthy of our calling.
Annual Men’s Weekend
Each year in the late Spring, early Summer, we have gathered as men at a remote site for a time of fun, food, and fellowship. The primary goal is to build relationships. The relationships built through shared experiences lay a foundation for growing together in Christ through the rest of the year.
EDO: Equipped to Disciple Others
“And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” – 2 Tim 2:2
EDO is a two year training environment for men. We meet every other Sunday evening for two hours, from mid-September through May, a total of 17 sessions. Men who commit to EDO are expected to faithfully attend and complete one year at a time. As material is presented each week, men are expected to study the notes over the next two weeks. There is also some required reading throughout the year.
Pastor Ray has been teaching small groups of men through EDO since 2003.
