Don was born and raised in Maryland and attended Washington Bible College to study mission evangelism. While in school, Don discovered a passion for student ministry through serving as a youth pastor at a church outside of Baltimore, Maryland. During college, he also went on many short-term mission trips, one of which led him to work for North American Indian Missions in Seattle, Washington. He fell in love with the work there and stayed for a year as a carpenter while also having another opportunity to work with teens. After his year in missions, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda, and moved back to his hometown in Maryland. There, he worked full time as a carpenter while once again working part time in youth ministry. In 1989, he came on staff full time as the youth pastor at Chantilly Bible Church until 2009 when he transitioned to Shepherding Pastor. A few years later, seeing the rapid development occurring in Loudoun County, Don and Ray, a fellow pastor at Chantilly, met and began to pray about starting a new church to meet this growing need.
No matter the age group with which Don works, he wants people to see Christ in action. His desire is to help them learn more about our Savior through Bible study, mission trips, and fellowship.
Don and Linda now have four kids, two of which are married, and a wonderful dog named Tex. If you can’t find Don at church, he is most likely either off playing soccer or out fishing with his son.
