What to Expect

What to Expect

We gather every Sunday at 10am at Arcola Elementary school, near the stone ridge COMMUNITY in southeastERN loudoun county, virginia.
Visiting a new church can be a little intimidating.  For this reason, we want to give you an idea of what to expect when you visit. We hope you’ll find the Arcola Bible Church family to be just that … a family. On Sunday mornings, many of us are working together to prepare for our time together.  You’ll see people setting up for church service, greeting and talking with others, and simply enjoying each other’s company.  We have many diverse interests and personalities, but what we have in common is Jesus Christ.

We invite you to come as you are…

Wear whatever is most comfortable to you. We’re not trying to ‘wow’ you with a ‘show’. We are seeking to be authentic and heart-felt as worshipers of Jesus Christ.

When You Arrive

When you arrive, facing the school, you’ll see an entrance at the front right of the building. That’s our front entrance. You can park in the circle or the front or side parking lots.

When you enter the building you’ll be greeted by someone at our welcome table.  You’re welcome to say hi and grab some background material and then head down the hall into the school gymnasium – our worship sanctuary!  If you have children, the greeter can direct you to the children’s check-in station, where your kids will receive a security tag if they are participating in our children’s Sunday School.  We provide child care for children up to and including 5th grade.  Older kids will participate in the worship service and often meet separately during Part II.

Feel free to grab a seat anywhere in the sanctuary or visit the hospitality table at the far rear for free coffee, tea or water.  Simply make yourself comfortable until we officially begin the service at 10 o’clock.

Once the Service Begins…

Our worship gathering is similar to most churches.  There is a combination of singing, some announcements, prayer, a message, and a closing song.
The children join us for the first part of the service, and then are dismissed to their classes before the message begins.  Our music is “blended” and led by a praise team with mostly contemporary songs with a few older songs mixed in.  The message has a teaching emphasis, usually from a specific Bible passage.  We observe Communion about once a month.

Fellowship time

Following the worship service, also known as “Part I”, we will take a 15-20 minute break to share in refreshments and spend time in fellowship with one another.  Those that must leave for other reasons will go and pick their children up from their classroom.

Part II

Arcola Bible promotes a two hour culture on Sundays.  Following each worship service, we hold “Part II” which resembles a Sunday school format.  During Part II there’s an opportunity to dive deeper into special topics from an application perspective. Once a month we pray together, usually in smaller groups.  We also share a meal at least once a month during Part II time.  This occurs in the school cafeteria where we bring in a catered lunch or do a pot luck.

We do not take an offering.  We do not want anyone to feel pressured to give. However, there will be an offering box available near the exit of the worship area.  If you are visiting, please do not feel obligated to give.  If God has put it on your heart to give, simply place your cash or check made payable to Arcola Bible Church in the box labeled “Love Offering”.  Please ensure your name and address are clearly labeled on the check so we can properly track your giving for year end tax purposes.

If you have any questions please reach out to us at church@arcolabible.org.
